Heritage Roses are best defined as roses that are of historical significance or are no longer in commercial production. Heritage roses are the foundation of the modern rose industry and provide a genetic pool that is extremly important for the continued development of new rose varieties.
Heritage Roses all into six main classes. Albas, Bourbons, Damasks, Gallicas, Mosses and Portlands.

ALBAS
|
Albas are an upright vigorous rose, they flower in early summer and are long flowering. Perfumed flowers with foliage that is a grey/green. Albas are disease resistant.
Includes: Alba Maxima, Alba semi plena, Konigin von Danemark, Celestial, Pompon Blanc Parfait, Maiden's Blush.

BOURBONS |
Bourbons come in both climbing and shrub forms. Popular during the Victorian era, Bourbons generally are repeat flowering.
Includes: Mme. Isaac Pereire, Mme. Ernst Calvat, Boule de Neige, Bourbon Queen, Zepherine Drouhin, La Reine Victoria.

DAMASKS |
Damasks date back the Roman era. Damasks are disease resistant and perfumed.
Includes: Belle Amour, La Ville de Bruxelles, Marie Louise, Isaphan, Quatre Saisons Blanc Mousseux, Omar Khayyam, Leda, York and Lancaster.

GALLICAS |
Gallicas are short or compact growers. Strong perfume. Flowers from pink through to maroon, doubles and singles.

Apothecary's Rose (R. gallica officinalis), Complicata, Josephine, Agathe Incarnata, Cardinal de Richelieu, Charles de Mills.

MOSSES |
Mosses or Moss Roses are strongly scented and repeat flowering. The moss may cover the stem or calyx.
Includes: Communis (common moss), Henri Martin, Nuits de Young, James Veitch, Alfred de Dalmas, Salet.

PORTLANDS |
Portlands are repeat or continuous flowering roses. Portlands do well in pots and can be used for hedging.
