Chamaedorea microspadix

A cold tolerant clumping palm Chamaedorea microspadix is a fast growing tree that will grow well indoors or in a shaded position in the garden.

It is most used widely as an indoor plant. In full sun these attractive palm trees tend to go yellow very quickly and will struggle.

Outdoors it is regarded a hardy in USDA Zones 11 and above

In a shaded position they are easy and fast growing.

Once established they are reasonably drought tolerant. The flowers are not really a feature, a yellor color, followed by red fruits from which the seed can be collected for propagation.

A sucking or clump forming palm, Chamaedorea microspadix is originally from Mexico where it grows in the forests of the higher regions.
